If you have any relevant information or photos (especially wedding photos) in relation to St. Mary’s from down through the years and with particular reference to its renovation in the mid 1970s please email same to dalyml@eircom.net or post to The Parochial House, Broomfield, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. All photos will be kept safely and returned to the owner.

St. Michael’s Community Development Committee
St. Michael’s Community Development Committee has recently purchased land in the Donaghmoyne village area for a playpark for the children of the parish and surrounding areas. It’s hoped that the facilities will include a children’s playpark, an all weather pitch and other facilities. We hope to commence fundraising in the near future when our committee members will be taking up collections in local towns, supermarkets, church gates and shows. We are hoping to receive funding from the Cavan/Monaghan Leader group but the committee will have to raise approximately 50-60% of the funding themselves. If you see us in local towns or at church gates our fundraising committee there will have a poster reading “PLEASE GIVE 1 EURO TO OUR PLAYPARK”. Your contribution will be very gratefully appreciated. On behalf of St. Michael’s Community Development Committee I hope that we will receive your generous support for a project which we hope will be of much benefit to the community.

Our second fundraising idea which was discussed by the committee is that if people wanted to donate items of scrap to the committee such as bits of iron, copper piping, lead, galvanise, waste car batteries, mobile phones, scrap cars and tractors, old radiators or any other item of scrap, no matter how big or small, the committee would appreciate it for this great cause. If you have anything you think might be of use to us, please contact any of the following committee members for collection.
